That's all we have for you folks from the live coverage of the Second and Final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa. The visitors have done a whitewash and have sealed the series 2-0. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash who, along with scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought all the actions of this day's play. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYEπŸ‘‹
South African Skipper, Aiden Markram now collects the Trophy and then joins his teammates for photoshoots.
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "(On biggest wins for South Africa in terms of runs and innings) Yeah, I'm not really sure either; I'm not great with numbers, but I’m incredibly proud of the guys. It’s been incredibly tough for the entire group here. A lot of hard work has gone into it, and it's nice to see that effort pay off. In both the first and second Test matches, we played some really good cricket, especially considering we were in conditions we're not used to and are looking to improve in. Reflecting on these two games, we take a lot of confidence from our performances. (On three batters making the maiden century)Yeah, that was special. The way the three of them really dug in was impressive. It was extremely hot, and scoring was tough at times. They really bit the bullet for the team, helping us get into a strong position. They could have easily been satisfied with just reaching 100 or getting out at 80, but I think they set aside individual goals and personal satisfaction. I’m incredibly proud of them and genuinely happy for their contributions. The bowlers worked well together, and KG led from the front; it was special to watch him. Everyone seized their opportunity, and I’m proud of all three aspects of the game. There's still a long way to go and plenty of Test cricket to be played. We need to take it session by session and Test match by Test match. Hopefully, we'll be on that flight to Lord's for the World Test Championship final."
Kagiso Rabada (Player of the Series): "Um, yes, I thought losing the toss at Dhaka was not a great start to the series but the way we turned it around and also luckily we could bat on this wicket so we did a really good job. The batters did an excellent job to bring us into such a strong position. Yes, every individual in this team are willing to raise their hands up and deliver for the team. If you look across the series, everyone has contributed in various stages which is really crucial for us. Yes, I guess I am bowling well. I don't try to think much about where my rankings are until and unless the team performs well and we keep winning."
Player of the Series: Kagiso Rabada
Tony de Zorzi (Player of the Match): "Yeah, I’m very, very happy that I could contribute, and I’m pleased we were in such a strong position. I think our bowling attack, when we have enough runs on the board, can do exactly what it did today. Obviously, Aiden added value by winning the toss, which made it easier for us to bat. The resilient batters took a lot of pressure off, allowing us to bat at our natural tempo. So credit must go to them. It’s always easier and more enjoyable to bat when they set things up so well. We are a young side, and winning away is always rewarding. We won in the West Indies, now in Bangladesh, and we hope to keep playing this way in the upcoming games."
Player of the Match: Tony de Zorzi
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "Obviously, I think they played very good cricket and we are pretty disappointed with our performances. I think we need to improved in a lot of things, especially in our batting. Few hours we are bowling well and then again not being at our best so we have to improve in all the departments. I think there are a few positive things to look into. The spells by Taijul Islam and also the knock from Mominul in the first Innings in this Test are really positive things but as a team we need to improve. Yes, I think we need players like him (Taijul Islam) who can hang around and play for the team. As I said we have to improve as a team."
