The two-time champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, have finally broken their losing streak and opened their account in this season's SA20! The men in orange secured a thumping victory against the Durban Super Giants.

Not only did they notch their first win of the season, but they also claimed the bonus point, making it a comprehensive outing for Aiden Markram's side. A clinical display in all the three departments by the Sunrisers. It's a Super Saturday tomorrow as we have a double-header!

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Eastern Cape Captain): "I suppose with the bat, we got off to a nice start. Had a good powerplay. It was tough in the middle, they bowled well but Tom and Marco had a good partnership, with DSG's batting, you are never sure how many runs would be enough.

Hats off to our bowlers, for taking wickets regularly, it was tough to bat but they bowled well.

We knew we had to bowl well to take wickets. Nowadays, guys hit sixes for fun. A lot of good stuff with bat and ball but still a lot of things to improve.

(on Tom Abell) A calm head, he has a great mindset. His touch game is really good. A great guy to have at number 3. His 59 is worth a lot of more on different venues.

We want guys in form to be out there. It made sense to send Marco in at that moment. Myself and Stubbs haven't struck it yet. Fortunately, it paid off.

Not really to be honest, they are a quality side, you take any win against them especially at their backyard."
Keshav Maharaj (Durban Super Giants Captain): "If I am honest. The way we bowled, we bowled too many soft balls and we were not at our best with our fielding as well. Full credit to the Sunrisers team as they have outplayed us in all the phases of the game.

Yeah obviously it is only a matter of time before we start clicking as a unit. We are doing the good things so we want to keep investing in the places we can and hopefully get back to winning ways again.

(On QDK) Yeah it is a little bit of tactical change which we have done. He has done really well for us so far. So let's go back to the drawing board and look at the things we can improve for the next game.

Obviously we are losing a lot of wickets in the middle phases. Maybe application is something which we are lacking at the moment. Like I said it is a matter of time before the entire unit starts clicking.

Thank you guys for turning up today. It has been a disappointing last two games for us. Do come and cheer for us as we have 2 more home games left and we will give you something to cheer for sure. Hopefully next two games we can go for back-to-back wins."
Noor Ahmad (POTM): "Just trying to contribute for my team, trying to bowl wicket to wicket. That always gives me good result. Our team's communication is very good. We always talk to each other. They keep telling me about different conditions and different batters.

(on how he performs in different conditions) Just try to keep it simple and do the best of my ability. Not happy with the result, we will try to come back stronger and win."

Time for the Post-Match Presentation!
12:23 AM IST & 8:53 PM Local Time| The two-time champions have finally broken their losing streak in emphatic fashion! After three consecutive defeats, they secured their first win of the season in dominant style, defeating the Durban Super Giants on their home turf in Durban by a massive margin of 58 runs. To add to their triumph, they also claimed the crucial Bonus Point. It was a clinical all-round performance by the Aiden Markram-led side.

Earlier in the day, Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and chose to bat first. David Bedingham's stay at the crease was short-lived as he was dismissed for 10 inside the powerplay by Naveen-ul-Haq.

However, Zak Crawley and Tom Abell steadied the innings with a crucial 48-run partnership for the second wicket. Just as the Sunrisers looked to build momentum post the powerplay, Noor Ahmad turned the tide, delivering a double blow by dismissing both Crawley and skipper Aiden Markram in the same over.

Tom Abell showcased his class under pressure with a brilliant knock, scoring 57 off 39 balls to anchor the Sunrisers' innings. However, he couldn't stay until the end to push the total beyond 180. Once again, it was Marco Jansen who stepped up with the bat for the Sunrisers.

The Proteas all-rounder delivered a crucial unbeaten cameo, guiding his team to a competitive total of 165/5 on a challenging surface at Kingsmead. Noor Ahmad (4/25) was the standout bowler for DSG!

In reply, the Durban Super Giants began positively, with openers Breetzke (21) and Parsons (23) taking advantage of the powerplay. The duo laid a decent foundation, but disaster struck when a massive mix-up between the two resulted in Parsons' run-out, breaking the momentum.

After the early setback, Kane Williamson and Heinrich Klaasen failed to make an impact, both falling for low scores. This left DSG in trouble at 54/4. A glimmer of hope came through a partnership between Quinton de Kock and Wiaan Mulder, which looked promising as they attempted to steady the ship.

However, just when things seemed to be turning around, QDK was dismissed in the 15th over by Baartman. The Durban Super Giants' chase fell apart as they lost wickets in clusters. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowlers dominated, maintaining pressure throughout the innings as the Super Giants were bundled out for 107, handing a comprehensive 58-run victory to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!
