That is the coverage of the second Qualifier 2 of Global T20 Canada. For now, this is me Hrutuja Deshmukh signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Aditya Agarwal and Ayan Chatterjee, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought you all the live action of this fixture. We will meet again. Until then, cheers!

Colin Munro (Toronto Nationals Captain): "I think we won in the powerplay. We gave away 10-15 runs more. But the way I started and then it was run a ball towards the end and they brought it home. It was 15-20 more but we batted well and got over the line in the end. We are happy to get the win and address our concerns going into the finals tomorrow. Hope to do well."
David Warner (Brampton Wolves Captain): "It was shambolic today. We thought, we were playing Bangla Tigers and then the total and in the end, the better team won in the end. Extras was the highest scorer and it was disappointing for us Tye was unhappy as well. It has been enjoyable and you commentators have done a great job by staying patient and bringing the coverage to the people out there."
Romario Shepherd (POTM): "Happy to be there till the end. I kept it simple and kept the stumps at play and kept the batters guessing and happy to be doing well. David Warner was my favourite wicket today."
Player of the Match: Romario Shepherd.
Time for the presentations.
Nick Hobson (Brampton Wolves): "Look, we played good cricket in parts. They played the powerplay well and we could not capitalise well enough. I was hitting the ball well. It was a reasonable total but could not defend it. We were positive and looked forward to it but failed to execute the plans. We were also in our hotels for a while due to weather issues. I am happy that we tried but failed to cross the line. I have enjoyed G20 and look forward to it in the upcoming seasons."
01:27 AM IST and 03:57 PM Local Time | Toronto Nationals advance to the finals of the Global T20 Canada 2024 all thanks to the all-round show by Romario Shepherd as they win comprehensively over Brampton Wolves with 5 wickets remaining and 10 balls to spare. They are set to face Montreal Tigers in the Grand Finals.

Here's a review of what happened in the match.

Put into bat by Toronto Nationals, Brampton Wolves started off on a quick note but their batters couldn't convert any of the starts with Jack Jarvis (20 off 15) and George Munsey (26 off 24). The wickets fell cheaply and the Wolves were struggling on the score of 57-4 , but on the back of Nick Hobson's unbeaten 51 runs in 34 balls helped them to post a fighting total of 141.

Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers for the Nationals as he had 4 scalps to his name. Jatinderpal Matharu contributed too with the ball as he bagged 2 wickets as well.

Chasing 142, Toronto Nationals got off to a rollicking start courtesy of their openers, as they finished the 6 over powerplay on the score of 63/1.  Colin Munro departed after a well-made knock of 36 runs in 20 balls.

Akhil Kumar bowled a great spell in the middle overs and bagged 3 quick wickets to put the Nationals in a bit of stutter.

But it was Mohammad Nawaz and Romario Shepherd's unbeaten and a match winning 24 run partnership that helped them get over the line in the all important game.
