That's a wrap up on our coverage of this Qualifier 2. We hope that you enjoyed this contest. The CPL 2024 final is set between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St. Lucia Kings as the top two sides are ready to contest the grand finale in a couple of nights from today. Make sure you join us for the final and stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Look, I always smile. Grateful to Allah that we crossed the line. No major difference. We bowled in the powerplay a lot better. Plus, it was dewy and chased really well and it was a lesson for us.

To be honest, we signed Moeen as an opener. It was just that we were finding out combinations. So, there was a surprise and Moeen played well. Gurbaz took on the bowlers and they gave us a great start and we got over the line and maybe this is the combination going forward.

The crowds have been the difference. Thank them. They have been supporting us a lot and thank them a lot for helping us through tough times.

Yes, ready for Sunday night. It's a dream come true for us. We have been playing good cricket and deserve to be there. The Kings are playing good cricket as well and it will be a good final to watch as far as I am concerned for viewers and fans at the stadium. Thank You and see you on Sunday."
Rovman Powell (Barbados Royals Captain): "I think we lost wickets at crucial intervals. If you keep losing wickets at regular intervals then you will struggle. We struggle as individuals and as a team in Guyana. We played 5-6 games here and lost majority of them.

It is a great thing for Barbados but 2026 is a long way away (on Barbados being named as the venue for 2026 CPL final). The focus is not on 2026 but next year. Good to see CPL final being spread across the Caribbean.

Quinton did well for us throughout the season. Naveen and Theekshana did well for us with the ball. David Miller also finished the competition strong and we got glimpses from youngsters, who showed that they can play cricket at this level."
Moeen Ali (Player of the Match): "I got a little bit lucky to be honest. Obviously with a full toss and a short ball, got two big wickets and the support I get from the fans is amazing. I told the management to let me open and Immy and the coaches agreed. I have opened the batting in domestic cricket and that's something I could help the team with my experience. Happy to get the win for the team.

I haven't been scoring too many runs batting down the order. My role was to knock it around while Gurbaz and Shai were hitting it all over the park.

The Guyanese people have been telling me to open the batting, it is special to put in a performance like this in front of a packed home crowd."

8:03 AM IST, 10:33 PM Local Time: A comprehensive win for the defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors as they thrash the Barbados Royals in Qualifier 2 in all facets of the game to win by 8 wickets with 33 balls to spare. They advance to the Finals for the 8th time and it will be the repeat of Qualifier 1 in the finals on Sunday night. The two best teams will compete in the final.

Chasing 149 for the win, the Guyana Amazon Warriors got off to a racing start courtesy of Rahmanullah Gurbaz who came out all guns blazing in the powerplay scoring 40 off 18 balls. He departed but the platform was set for Shai Hope who played positively for his 56 off 33 balls. Moeen Ali who opened the batting today held the innings together and anchored the innings with his unbeaten 44* off 35 balls. Hope fell towards the end but it was too late as the chase was completed in 14.3 overs. 8 extras given by the fielding side.

Nothing much to cheer about for the Barbados Royals bowlers as they got only two wickets. One of them was taken by Maheesh Theekshana while the other was taken by Ramon Simmonds. The others came back empty handed.

Earlier in the game, Barbados Royals were put into bat first. They got starts but no one really went on with it. Quinton de Kock scored 15 while Rahkeem Cornwall scored 19 off 11 balls. Alick Athanaze looked good for his 26 off 24 balls. Kadeem Alleyne made 11. Captain Rovman Powell scored 12. David Miller was the best batter for the Royals today as well scoring 36 off 26 balls and that was the top score for them. Jason Holder scored 19 off 19 balls. But the innings fell away as the Royals lost 5/37 in the last 5 overs to be bowled out for 148 in 20 overs. 5 extras given by the fielding side.

For the Warriors, Romario Shepherd picked up 3 wickets at the death to finish with 3/35 in 4 overs and was involved in effecting two run outs in the final over. Moeen Ali bowled a miserly spell with figures of 2/24 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Gudakesh Motie, Dwaine Pretorius, and Imran Tahir as well. The bowlers set the game up and the batters finished things off in style.

So, it will be Guyana Amazon Warriors up against St. Lucia Kings in the finals of CPL 2024. The top 2 sides in the league stage will meet in the final. Stay tuned for the presentations.

1 That's it, the Guyana Amazon Warriors enter another final. Moeen Ali steers them through carrying his bat through the innings and Barbados Royals will have to wait for another season to get their hands on the silverware. Coming back to the delivery, it was a length ball angling into the leg stump. 126.2 kmph. Ali tucks it to backward square leg and takes the single to win the game for his side.
