That's it from our coverage of the game between Barbados Royals and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. I am Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Have a good day!
Rovman Powell(Barbados Royals Captain): "I think it's a very good league so far for us. We have won 3 out of last 4 games. It has been a very good cricket from us. We just want to continue our good going with the momentum.
Rahkeem's primary role is to bat. But he was not getting the chance to play as he was having a bad form with the bat but today we gave him a game and he delivered a five star performance. The crowd here have been sensational. You always want to feel the ground yours while coming out to play every time at your home. They have shown us the support and they have been fantastic."
Andre Fletcher (St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Captain): "Honestly, there is no emotion. The way things have been from the start, we were hoping for things to get better but they have gone worse. We still have two matches left and would look to come back and win.
When you keep losing it is quite difficult, but you have to find the inner motivation as a player and as a professional. We do go through bad patches but how to get out of it is a challenge. I have to do some soul searching, all the players have to do."
Barbados Royals have qualified for the playoff stage of the CPL 2024 with 10 points from 6 games. They are the first team to qualify to the top-four.
Rahkeem Cornwall (Player of the Match): "It was a good performance. I just backed myself and put the ball in the right areas. I enjoyed all 5, if you get 5 wickets, you enjoy it. I just backed myself and the team backed me as well.
Think, we have a good unit. Just going with the momentum (on his team's good run in the tournament). The support over the 5 games has been superb, good to give them (the crowd) something to cheer for."
Player of the Match: Rahkeem Cornwall
