Phew! What a mouth watering contest we had at the Gabba. Things looked really difficult to have any cricket tonight but we had a 7-over contest which the Hosts won it comfortably. We head to SCG now for the 2nd T20I. Do join us on 16th November (Saturday) at 12:30 PM IST/ 6 PM Local Time. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Josh Inglis (Australia Captain): "Yeah, really nice. At times tonight we felt we may not get a game. Boys did well tonight and nice to get the win. There's been a lot of noise around that last week (on the ODI series defeat). Nice to go 1-0 up in the series and go to Sydney. I thought all the bowlers were great. Helps with Spencer and Xavier played a lot of T20 cricket here at Gabba. Taking wickets in short run chases is crucial and glad that they get it done."
Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan Captain): "You can't say anything in these kind of matches. Everything was going really fast but you need to keep yourself normal and belief that you can chase down the target. (On Abbas Afridi) Yeah, obviously things are going very well for him. The batters tried very hard but you know, you have to give credit to Maxwell the way he batted. He took the momentum away from us. Yeah, we have our next game at SCG. We will discuss and we will try to give our best in the next game."
Glenn Maxwell (POTM): "Yeah, certainly had a lot of fun out there. Batting in the powerplay and towards the end as well. We felt we had enough on the board. There was a little bit in the wicket. Yeah, it is funny. I don't make a lot in the domestic cricket but I get runs in international cricket. (on scoring runs at the Gabba) Yeah, we had packed our bags and nearly ready to go off but credit the ground staff to get a game. The two opening batters did a great job. From there the batters came out there with the intent to clear the ropes."

Time for the post-match presentation..
Nathan Ellis: "Oh mate, feels like I have played 40 here. So happy to be back here and happy to perform for the team. I missed the UK tour and had been working hard to get back. I had that UK series pinned in the calendar but missed out. Absolutely stoked to be back and hoping to string in a few together and keep the hammy in good shape. I guess you can call it a superstition but I hope I get more people wear casios in the team."
5:20 PM IST & 9:50 PM Local Time| Australia have destroyed Pakistan tonight at the Gabba registering a comprehensive win by 29 runs and lead the three-match T20I Series 1-0. Earlier in the day, rain played spoilsport for almost 3 hours but it was an exceptional effort from the ground staff to get the playing conditions ready at the earliest as we had a 7-over contest. Mohammad Rizwan sent the Aussies to bat first. Both the Aussie openers went back to the pavilion for single digit scores but it was the Big Show that set the stage on fire at the Gabba. Maxwell's (43 off 19) quickfire knock along with Marcus Stoinis' (21* off 7) late flourish in the fag end of the innings helped Australia post a strong total on the board. Abbas Afridi (2/9) was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as Australia ended up with 93/4 from their 7 overs. In reply, it was a tough chase for Pakistan and they failed to get going at all. Just three double digit scores in the batting scorecard of Pakistan as they lost wickets in regular intervals and at one stage were 5/16 in 2.3 overs. Abbas Afridi (20* off 10) looked promising down the order but he was falling short of partners at the other end. In a 7-over contest, Pakistan were restricted to 64/9 as Australia lead the T20I series 1-0. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation.
