Sunil Narine equals Andre Russell's record for most Player of the Match awards for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Both West Indians have won the award 15 times.
Sunil Narine (Player of the Match): "I think the most important thing is starting well, and once you have the backing of the support staff, you can't ask for more. So you just have to try to continue giving the team a good start. And it's been working, so hopefully it can work for the rest of the tournament.
I think you have to play to your strengths and decide what approach you'll take on a given day. You have to be selective about the balls you'll go after and the ones you won't. And you have to try to approach it as intelligently as possible. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Right now, it's working for me, so I'm just enjoying it. I think it's going very well. With Varun picking up wickets, he's making my job a lot easier. I just come in and try to keep it as tight as possible. So I think he's doing great. He's a hard worker and always strives to improve.
I think the boys are fired up and ready to go. They're eager to play cricket and perform well, regardless of the situation. They take on any challenge and strive to come out on top. So I think it's crucial that they want to contribute even in the toughest times."

Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain): "For the last six matches, there is havoc in the dressing room, players coming to me and asking skipper what is happening why are we not winning the toss. We have to be flexible in terms of right and left-hander at the crease as it keeps the pressure on the opposition."
"Spoke to Sunil Narine when he got out, he said 200 looks a good total on this pitch, anything we get after that is a bonus."
"Absolutely, there is no pressure on youngsters. We want them to go out there and express themselves, no matter what the situation is and it is working for us."
The openers have been fabulous. The way they are playing is pure bliss. The starts they have been giving us, I am hoping they keep giving us such results in the upcoming games as well.
