Hugh Weibgen (Australia Captain): "Never in doubt today. Believed in Ralf and Vidler to get the job done. It was a close game and we had to really adjust out there. Yes, we had to believe in ourselves. We showed tremendous character out there to win the game. We kept losing wickets but kept fighting and that was the character of the side. Ollie Peake was so calm under pressure and credit to him for winning us the game and everyone contributed. India is a quality and class side and we have to be at our best to win on Sunday. Guys will be up for it."
Saad Baig (Pakistan Captain):βItβs difficult to speak. But I feel we were short by 10-20 runs. But we tried our best but they played well. Boys fought really well. The way they bowled in the end was great.
We fought really well as a team. But due to the short of runs, we finished on the losing side. The lack of runs, yes, maybe 15-20 runs. But we fought well. I think Australia played really well.
Our bowling was outstanding throughout the tournament. Iβm really proud of my team. We know itβs a game. One team has to win. One team has to lose. Itβs a part of the game and we have to accept it."
Tom Straker (Player of the Match): "Yeah. Well it went closer than we expected. Once I got out, everyone were sitting and not moving and it was intense.
The last two wickets while bowling were good. It helped us finish it quickly and the coach was happy.
(On registering the best figures in semi-finals and finals) I didn't know that. But I'll take that one.
Probably not. We have had a good confidence leading up to the tournament and we will keep it the same."
