So, that also brings an end to our coverage of the 7th game of ILT20 between the Gulf Giants and Desert Vipers. For now, this is me Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Chandan Kr Singh. CHEERS!!
Wanindu Hasaranga (POTM): "Really very happy with my batting, happy to perform. I bat at number 7 generally, but today, I had a chance up the order, so I tried to go on the attack. I am always ready to perform and want to have the tag of the all-rounder in front of me. Happy to perform with the bat as well."
Wanindu Hasaranga is the Player of the Match.
Colin Munro (Desert Vipers Captain): "We performed a lot better today. It was a team effort; winning the toss was a big favour. We started well with the ball and had the right energy in the field. Hasaranga was just brilliant; what a player, isn't he? When you come up against Gulf Giants, we need to have our plans in place. We have all the analysts in T20 cricket, but what's most important is to adapt to what is in front of you in this contest of bat and ball. If we could have got more runs in our powerplay, but overall a lot of boxes ticked. Richard Gleeson bowled well, hit the pitch hard and troubled us early on. Shaheen is a quality competitor, and the experience he brings is a big one, while Shadab was expensive, but he was bowling towards the shorter boundary."
James Vince (Gulf Giants Captain): "Yeah, we did lose a couple of early wickets, but after that, the way Lynn and Cox played got us back in the game, but then the bowlers pegged us back again. With the ball, we started well and put the pressure on them, but the way Hasaranga came out and batted took the game away from us. We were probably off in all the areas; we need to sort it out in the next game. We need to tidy up in all facets on the game. You can't afford to take the pedal of it; with the quality of the opposition we are facing, we can't have that. We can't afford to have lull periods because quality opposition will make you pay. As I said, we were 20% off in all the areas."
Biggest Six of the Match: Wanindu Hasaranga for his 90m six.
11:44 PM IST and 10:14 PM Local Time: We are ready with the post-match presentations...
23:36 IST and 22:06 Local Time: ALL OVER. The desert Vipers win by 6 wickets. A clinical performance from them with both bat and ball as they register their first win of the season.

Put to bat first, the Gulf Giants posted 160/6 in their 20 overs. 160 was always going be difficult to defend considering the pitch and the dew factor. They lost their openers cheaply but Chris Lynn and Jordan Cox stitched up a good partnership in the middle.

Chris Lynn looked brilliant in his stay as he scored 63 off 42 balls. Jordan Cox did spend some time in the middle but was not able to finish the innings for his team. A good little cameo from Jordan in the end helped his side get to the 160-mark.

With the ball, the Vipers were brillinat with the new ball. The duo of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Amir picked up the openers and also made sure that the run rate is in check. Shaheen Afridi was brilliant in the death as well as he ended up with the figures of 3/22 in his 4 overs.

Mohammad Amir, Tymal Mills and Wanindu Hasaranga all of them bowled well and picked up a wicket each to their name. They were a bit expensive in the middle overs but did well to pull back things at the backend and restrict them to just 160.

Coming to the chase, the Vipers were off to a quite start. They lost Colin Munro in the third over. Adam Hose joined Hales in the middle and the duo scored 27 runs for the 2nd wicket partnership before the later being dismissed for 21 by Dominic Drakes.

Wanindu Hasaranga was promoted up the order and he knew his role and played a game changing knock of 42 off just 19 balls which kept pressure on Gulf Giants for the rest of the game. Adam Hose scored 39 off 35 but never looked settled in the middle.

It was Azam Khan who played a good little knock of 26* off 14 which helped the Vipers finish the game in the 19th over. Sherfane Rutherford also assisted him well at the other end and remained unbeaten on 20* off just 14 balls.

For Gulf Giants, they will not be happy with their batting and also their bowling and will look to bounce back strongly in the next game. Dominic Drakes and Richard Gleeson picked up 2 wickets each and were the only wicket takers for them and those could be some positives for them. Overall, a clinical performance from the Desert Vipers as they seal their first victory of the season.

Stay around for the presentations coming your way.
