Afghanistan are an inspiration for all of those who have a mountain to climb in front of them. They didn't get to a great start but have come back really well, in fact miraculously to beat the likes of England, Pakistan and now Sri Lanka, moving to the 5th spot in the points table. Shahidi and co. have Netherlands, Australia and South Africa in their last three hurdles in order to make it to the semis. Two more wins could well be enough, who knows? On the other hand, Sri Lanka have been poor yet again. Starting with a hat-trick of defeats and then got a couple of good wins, but now again, it's a disappointing show.

We have Pakistan vs Bangladesh tomorrow at Eden Gardens! For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Sidharth Gulati, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought you all the live-action of this exciting game of cricket. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers!

Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "Quite happy. Proud of the team for the way they have performed in all three departments. The way we chased against Pakistan gave us a belief in chasing any target we get. It gave us a lot of confidence.

Today, especially, we started well from the beginning. The way we bowled, fielded and then batted. Very clinical the way we approached the chase. It was a very professional performance from the bowlers today.

Coaches are always positive, we worked very hard before the World Cup. All of the management and support staff are working really hard and keep us motivated all the way. Especially Jonathan (Head Coach Jonathan Trott), you know, he has changed our approach. The one word he said to me before the game against Pakistan changed my approach and gave confidence to me. He has changed my mindset as well. As a captain, I should lead the team from the front, which I think I am doing now. I will try to maintain that for the rest of the tournament.

Rashid Khan is a special player and the best player in the world. One word for Rashid Khan I want to say that he has been energetic. Very full of energy and positivity and fills plenty of energy in the boys on the field.

Thank you very much. In the end, I want to thank all the people of my nation as well the Indian crowd for supporting us."

Kusal Mendis (Sri Lanka Captain): "Yeah. I think little bit short. 240 wasn't a good total on this pitch. Maybe 300 or 280 would have been a good total here.

I told the boys that we will try to defend it. Bowl in the right areas but we didn't quite pick wickets. The dew came in the later half and it made life hard for the spinners. Too much dew came in today and while bowling it was difficult. The pitch also became good for batting in the second innings.

Dilshan has been very good with the ball for us. He is bowling nicely and performing consistently for us. Really happy for him."

This is the first time in the history of the World Cups that Afghanistan have won back-to-back games! This is their best-ever performance in an ICC event.
Fazalhaq Farooqi (Player of the Match): "First of all, thanks to my dear Allah for the performance and really happy to win three games in a row in the competition.

I tried to swing the new ball for the first couple of balls but I didn't get swing. So I decided to attack the stumps and bowl tighter and cut out the boundaries.

We have been working hard in the nets. We gave too many runs in the last overs but we did work on that. We had a good rest as well. I tried to stick to my strengths and I'm happy that it worked out well for me and the team."
