Player Bio

Ravindra Jadeja, widely known as "Jaddu" or "The Rockstar," is a modern-day great and the real definition of a '3D' player. A vital part of the 2008 U19 World Cup-winning squad under Virat Kohli, Jadeja has evolved into one of the most complete cricketers in the modern era.

Known for his swift over-rate, pinpoint accuracy, and explosive lower-order batting, he has consistently provided the "extra cushion" for his captains, excelling as a premier all-rounder across all formats of the game.

Beyond his batting and bowling, his legacy is defined by his elite athleticism in the field, where his speed and direct hitting made him one of the most dangerous boundary riders in the world.

Ravindra Jadeja Domestic Career

Ravindra Jadeja is an absolute titan in Indian domestic cricket, representing Saurashtra with legendary consistency. He is famously one of the few players to have scored three triple-centuries in the Ranji Trophy, underscoring his immense batting pedigree.

His resilience was best displayed during the 2015-16 season; after losing his place in the national side, he responded with 215 runs and 38 wickets, including three ten-wicket hauls. This dazzling performance left selectors with no choice but to recall him, sparking a historic second wind in his international career.

Ravindra Jadeja T20I Career

Ravindra Jadeja’s T20I career spanned 15 years, beginning with his debut in 2009. Over the years, he transitioned from a young prospect into a seasoned veteran who specialised in squeezing the opposition during the middle overs. While he missed the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a knee injury, he was a key part of the 2024 T20 World Cup squad.

On June 30, 2024, a day after India famously lifted the T20 World Cup trophy, Jadeja announced his retirement from the format, ending his T20I journey at the absolute pinnacle of the sport.

Over 74 matches, he scored 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16, frequently acting as a finisher or a situational floater in the batting lineup. His bowling was characterised by its speed through the air and economical nature, finishing with 54 wickets at an average of 29.85 and an impressive economy rate of 7.13.

Ravindra Jadeja ODI Career

In the ODI arena, Ravindra Jadeja has been a consistent match-winner. He made an immediate impact on debut in 2009 with an unbeaten 60 and later played a stellar role in India’s 2013 Champions Trophy victory, where he took 12 wickets and earned the Man of the Match award in the final.

More recently, he was a standout performer in the 2023 ODI World Cup, finishing with 16 scalps. His longevity in the format was further cemented during the 2025 Champions Trophy in Dubai, where his experience played a crucial role in India’s historic campaign to victory.

Ravindra Jadeja Test Career

Test cricket is where Ravindra Jadeja’s "enigma" truly transformed into world-class dominance. He is the fastest player in history to reach the double of 250 wickets and 2,500 runs. During the 2016-17 home season, he scaled the No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings, famously dismissing Alastair Cook six times in five Tests.

Following the retirements of senior stalwarts like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Jadeja took on the role of a "super senior," recently reinventing himself on the 2025 English tour with scintillating, gritty knocks at Lord's and Old Trafford.

His ability to provide relentless accuracy has earned him accolades, making him a cornerstone of the Indian bowling attack and a perennial top contender in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings.

Ravindra Jadeja IPL Career

Ravindra Jadeja’s IPL journey has been both lucrative and iconic, specifically with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played his inaugural season with Rajasthan Royals. However, Jadeja was banned from the IPL 2010 due to a one-year suspension imposed by the IPL governing council. The ban resulted from his failure to sign a contract renewal with the Rajasthan Royals and from his direct negotiations with other franchises, such as the Mumbai Indians, in breach of IPL regulations.

Jadeja made a strong comeback in 2012; he was the most expensive player in the auction and quickly became MS Dhoni’s most trusted "go-to man." His IPL highlights are numerous, from smashing 37 runs in a single over against Harshal Patel in 2021 to his legendary finish in the 2023 final.

With CSK needing 10 runs off the final two balls against Gujarat Titans, Jadeja hit a six and a four to script a famous triumph, forever etching his name into the folklore of the Yellow Army.

Ahead of the 2026 season, CSK traded their “Thalapathy” to his original IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, for INR 14 crore, ending a 17-year association. This trade was part of a package that included Sanju Samson moving to CSK.
