Player Bio

Mangesh Yadav is a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh who rose rapidly from local cricket circuits to national attention after a high-value IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2026.

Known for generating pace around the 140 kmph mark and contributing useful lower-order runs, he represents the emerging group of Indian seamers discovered through domestic T20 leagues.

Mangesh Yadav’s Early Life and Background

Mangesh Yadav was born on October 10, 2002, in Borgaon village in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district. He grew up in a modest household — his father worked long hours as a truck driver while his mother supported his early practice sessions at home.

Mangesh’s first cricket experiences came in open spaces near his house, and before structured coaching, he played tennis-ball tournaments across neighbouring states.

At 17, he moved to Noida with the support of relatives to train at a professional academy.

Mangesh Yadav’s Domestic Career

Mangesh Yadav made his List A debut for Madhya Pradesh on December 24, 2025, against Rajasthan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his early matches in the format, he showed control rather than just pace, maintaining a tight economy and adapting to longer spells.

Mangesh Yadav’s professional rise began in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, where he represented the Gwalior Cheetahs in the 2025 season. He finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets in six matches, producing multiple four-wicket spells. His ability to bowl at pace while maintaining control made him one of the standout performers of the competition.

The performances earned him a call-up to the Madhya Pradesh side for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The transition from local league success to senior domestic cricket happened rapidly, confirming him as a promising T20 all-round option.

Mangesh Yadav’s IPL Career

Mangesh Yadav entered the IPL 2026 auction with a base price of INR 30 lakh, but his performances in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League had already drawn the attention of multiple franchises.

A bidding contest eventually pushed his price to INR 5.20 crore, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru securing him.
