Shauna Kavanagh is an all-rounder who represents Ireland internationally and plays for Scorchers at the domestic level. She is a middle-order batter and a part-time medium pace bowler, who initially started out as a bowler but later gripped her bat to become Ireland’s vital cog in the middle-order.

Born in Dublin, Kavanagh represented Leinster Development squads for U-15, U-17, and U-19 levels, before she donned the Irish jersey for the same age groups. The Dublin-born was then selected to play for the Ireland 'A' team and then graduated to play for the national team.

Kavanagh made her international debut against Pakistan in a T20I clash in April 2011. Her maiden international appearance wasn’t delightful as she got run-out on a golden duck. However, a couple of days later, the Irish made her ODI debut to score a crucial 17 in a nail-bitter match against the Netherlands. From there on, Kavanagh took huge leaps on the world stage to become a vital cog in the Irish team.

Apart from playing the sport at the highest level, the Irish has also played county cricket in the United Kingdom from 2011-2015 with her career highlights include a seven-wicket haul in County Championships.

Outside of cricket, Kavanagh has graduated from Trinity College with a degree in Neuroscience and currently works for IPB Insurance in the HR department, while also running the operations side of GM By Choice in Sports Grounds.
