Player Bio

Jon Holland is a former Australian U-19 cricketer who has also spent time at the Centre of Excellence. A wily left-arm orthodox spinner, Holland made his first-class debut for Victoria at the age of 21 in the 2008-09 Sheffield Shield competition.

Such was his talent and reputation that Holland was quickly drafted in the Australian A squad for their series against Pakistan A in 2009. He also made it to the 30-man probable squad for the Champions Trophy the same year.

Holland rose through the Australian teenage ranks and was also a member of the Australian squad for the 2006 U-19 World Cup. He played three games in the tournament and finished with four wickets under his belt.

Just when everything looked gloomy for the promising spinner, he was handed a surprise call-up for the tour of Sri Lanka in 2016. He made his much-anticipated Test debut in the second game of the series. He also played in the next Test as well and finished the series with 5 wickets, at an average of 54.8.

Apart from Victoria, Holland currently plays for Melbourne Renegades and has also featured for the Adelaide Strikers.
