Player Bio

Left-arm spinner Phoebe Brett started off as a seam bowler until, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to switch to spin bowling.

The 2006-born cricketer took up to cricket after she started visiting a local sports hall with her father. She started playing age-group club cricket in Worcestershire at the age of 11, but the switch to spin bowling got her an England U-19 T20 World Cup debut in 2025.

"We lived quite close to a net so me and my dad would just bowl there pretty much every day [during Covid]," Brett said in an interview.

The spinner has tried to balance her studies along with cricket but has missed out on school several times in order to play for Worcestershire and other teams.

Notably, the left-arm spinner’s selection to the U-19 World Cup squad came off the back of an impressive season in the Sparks academy, with Worcestershire and through the infamous School Games in Loughborough.

It’s clear Brett has a big future, already making her mark across various tournaments.

“Phoebe Brett has impressed in her first season as an academy player with her left arm spin bowling. She has great skill which, combined with her height, gives her something different and poses a challenge for opponents," said Laura MacLeod, head of high performance, Bears Women.

Notably, Brett finished the 2025 ICC U19 Women's T20 WC as the fourth most economical bowler for England.

Brett started representing Warwickshire after her Central Sparks academy was taken under Warwickshire's sphere.
