Player Bio

Nandini Unesh Kumar Kashyap, born on December 13, 2003, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, is a promising wicketkeeper-batter. She represents the Uttrakhand Women’s team in domestic cricket and the Delhi Capitals Women in WPL (Women’s Premier League).

Kashyap's interest in cricket came later than that of her peers. The badminton rallies captivated her more. However, she decided to switch from badminton to cricket and considered it as her career around the age of 15 or 16. She was first pushed to pursue individual sports by her mother, who used to play hockey and tennis, but destiny had different plans for her

Starting off by showcasing her abilities at school and local competitions, the keeper-batter immediately began making time twice a day for intense practice sessions. She advanced quickly through the Uttarakhand age-group teams thanks to her constant dedication.

Kashyap has played for several teams, including India B Women, India Women Under-19, and Uttarakhand Women. Later, she was selected as the Indian team's backup wicketkeeper for the first-ever Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, thanks to her performance and perseverance. She gained priceless experience and a stage on which to display her abilities. Despite her limited opportunities, she became aware of the national system and international cricket standards.

Kashyap's aggressive yet strategic style at the crease has earned her praise. She contributes significantly to the team because of her healthy strike rate. Behind the stumps, she relies on her instincts. Her two skills improve team dynamics by providing versatility in the fielding and batting areas.

She had been cherishing the year 2024. During the domestic T20 season, she amassed 579 runs at a strike rate of 131.9 and an average of 57.9 in 12 innings. She was so successful that she was contacted by major Women's Premier League (WPL) teams, such as the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite the cancellation of the trials with the Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz, it demonstrated her standing on the circuit. .

For Nandini Kashyap, the fruits had only just begun to bear. Delhi Capitals Women acquired her for INR 10 lakh at the 2025 auction, and was also added to the Indian team's roster for the Twenty20 International series against the West Indies.

Despite not having made her WPL debut as of February 2025, the youngster is prepared to help the club in whatever way she can. She is anticipated to contribute significantly in international competitions and earn a more regular position in the national squad.
