Player Bio
This bowling all-rounder from Maharashtra made heads turn when he bowled off-spin and left-arm spin in one over of a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match for Vidarbha against Himachal Pradesh. Besides being an ambidextrous bowler, Karnewar is also a handy batsman down the order.
Originally a right-arm off-spinner when he started playing cricket aged 13, Karnewar was encouraged to try his hand at left-arm spin by his coach. After a lot of practice and perseverance, the youngster is now adept at both styles of bowling. He usually bowls right arm to left-handers and vice a versa to create the perfect angle.
However, he also uses his unique talent to spring a surprise upon an unsuspecting batsman by changing his arm mid-over.
This extraordinary skill-set played a big role in earning Karnewar his maiden IPL contract, when he was bought by RCB in the IPL Player Auction 2016.
