Player Bio

Born on 27 March 2006, Lhuan-dré Gilbert Pretorius is an exciting young talent from South Africa. A left-handed batter and wicketkeeper, he represents the Titans in domestic cricket and plays for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 league.

Pretorius first gained attention during the 2024 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he finished as South Africa’s leading run-scorer. He tallied 287 runs in six matches at an average of 57.40 and a strike rate of 94.09, including three half-centuries.

Following the U19 World Cup, he made his senior T20 debut for the Titans in the CSA T20 Challenge in March 2024 at just 17 years of age. He made headlines later that year with a blistering 82 off 43 balls against Gauteng— his best T20 score at the time.

In December 2024, he made his first-class debut for the Titans in the CSA 4-Day Series, scoring a brilliant 120 in his very first innings. His transition to franchise cricket came in January 2025 with the Paarl Royals in the SA20, where he struck a career-best 97 off 51 balls on debut against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, followed by an 83 from 52 balls in the Cape derby versus MI Cape Town.

In February 2025, Pretorius signed with Hampshire to play in the English T20 Blast, further broadening his experience in global T20 leagues.

Most recently, in May 2025, he joined the Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2025 as an injury replacement for Nitish Rana. The Royals picked him up at his base price of INR 30 lakh. Pretorius entered the tournament with a strong T20 record — 911 runs from 33 matches, including a highest score of 97.

With a fearless approach at the crease and strong glovework behind the stumps, Lhuan-dré Pretorius is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young cricketers to watch out for.
