Player Bio

Dian Forrester is a left-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler who has built a reputation as one of the brightest young all-rounders in South Africa. A product of Afrikaanse Hoƫr Seunskool, from where AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis have also studied, Forrester came through the school and university cricket systems before stepping into the professional arena.

The Limpopo-born player made his first-class and List A debuts while playing for the Knights in 2023. However, his T20 debut came next year.

His breakthrough came with the Knights during the 2023/24 season, where he produced over 1,000 runs across formats and chipped in with nearly 30 wickets. That campaign saw the 2000-born cricketer notch up two first-class centuries, including a highest score of 127 not out, and several important fifties that often rescued his side. In List A cricket that season, he enjoyed a dream run, scoring 353 runs in eight matches with a best of 128, while also taking a stunning 6/48 that included a hat-trick. His ability to make an impact with both bat and ball earned him the Knights’ Player of the Year award.

The following season, Forrester carried his form forward with back-to-back centuries in the One-Day Cup, further cementing his reputation as a reliable middle-order batter. His consistency across formats once again earned him the Knights MVP award. Over 15 List A matches, he piled up close to 700 runs at an average of over 60, while in first-class cricket, he pushed past 700 runs at over 40 per innings.

In 2025, Forrester made a move to the North West, retaining their Division One status, and will play for them in the 2025/26 domestic season. He has also been part of South Africa’s Emerging squads, where he impressed with a match-winning 96*(59) in a 50-over game against the Bangladesh Emerging side in 2025.

Forrester missed out on the 2024/25 SA20 tournament but has been named in the Joburg Super Kings' squad for the 2025/26 edition of the T20 tournament.
