Player Bio

Scottish cricketer Darcey Carter has been impressive at both international cricket and T20 leagues. The England-born spinner made her county debut in 2022 for Kent against Hampshire. However, she started developing an interest in cricket at the age of five when her mother used to take her to watch her father playing matches.

At an under-11s practice, her coach introduced the playing group to practising spin bowling, and Carter developed a liking for bowling off-spin.

The 2005-born cricketer received her first call-up to the senior side for a Tri-Nation Series in the Netherlands in 2023. The same year ended on a bright note for Darcey as she was nominated for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award.

Carter considers herself lucky to play her first ICC T20 World Cup at the age of 19.

However, Carter was ruled out of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier after sustaining an injury to the right hand.

Carter, who is a product of the Kent Talent Pathway system, aims to make Scotland qualify for this year's 50-over World Cup in India.

She has made a mark in English domestic scenes and is presently part of the Manchester Originals franchise in The Hundred competition.

The offie considers English spinner Sophie Ecclestone as the best T20 bowler in the world.
