Player Bio

Lucy Kay Hamilton is a rising Australian cricketer who plays as a left-arm fast bowler for Queensland Fire in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). A product of Queensland’s strong regional pathway system, Hamilton developed her skills playing for the Sunshine Coast Cricket Club, where her pace, accuracy, and swing quickly caught the attention of state selectors.

Hamilton made her WNCL debut for Queensland in March 2022 at just 15, becoming the second youngest debutant in the team’s history. She announced her arrival by taking two wickets on debut against Western Australia, showing impressive control and composure for her age. That same season, she was called up by the Brisbane Heat, making two WBBL appearances and gaining invaluable experience alongside some of Australia’s top professionals.

Her rapid progress continued on the international stage when she was selected in Australia’s Under-19 squad for the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Hamilton delivered impactful spells throughout the tournament, finishing with five wickets at an average of 10.80 — including an eye-catching 2/0 from a single over against Sri Lanka.

Known for her smooth action and ability to move the ball both ways, Hamilton adds variety to any bowling attack. Still in her teens, she has already shown maturity and discipline that belie her age. As she continues to develop under the guidance of senior bowlers at Queensland and the Brisbane Heat, Lucy Hamilton stands as one of Australia’s most exciting young pace prospects — a left-armer with raw pace, natural rhythm, and the hunger to succeed on the big stage.
