Player Bio

From the heart of Harare’s cricketing fields emerged Tafadzwa Emmanuel Tsiga, a Zimbabwean talent whose journey embodies resilience and flair. At 30 years old as of April 9, 2025, this right-handed wicketkeeper-batter has etched his name into Zimbabwe’s cricketing fabric with a blend of grit and skill.

Born on 13 July 1994, Tsiga began his professional journey in February 2014, debuting in the Logan Cup for Southern Rocks. His early promise earned him a spot in Zimbabwe Cricket’s academy squad in 2017, which toured England to develop upcoming talent. In 2018, he featured for a Zimbabwe Select side in warm-up games ahead of the Tri-Nation Series, further underlining his presence in the national setup.

Tsiga made his T20 debut for the Mountaineers in March 2019 and continued to build his domestic career, returning to play for the revitalized Southern Rocks in the 2020–21 Logan Cup. Alongside seasoned names like Shane Snater and Ben Curran, he played a vital role in the team’s resurgence.

In 2022, Tsiga took his talents overseas, joining Mottram CC in England’s Greater Manchester Cricket League as their professional player. After a successful season, he rejoined the club for another stint in 2023, gaining valuable experience in English conditions.

His breakthrough on the international stage came on 4 February 2023, when he earned his Test cap against the West Indies. A technically sound batter and agile wicketkeeper, Tsiga continues to be a dependable option for Zimbabwe, both domestically and internationally.
