Player Bio

Jordan Hermann has quickly carved out a name for himself as one of South Africa’s most promising young batters. Born on December 4, 2001, the left-hander is known for his fluent stroke play at the top of the order and the ability to anchor innings under pressure. A product of Assupol TuksCricket at the University of Pretoria, Hermann rose through the domestic system with Titans and Warriors before making his presence felt in franchise cricket.

He made his first-class debut for Titans in the 2021–22 CSA 4-Day Series, followed by his List A debut later that year for Warriors. By 2022, he was part of the CSA T20 Challenge, showing signs of maturity well beyond his years. His progress was recognised early when he was named CSA Newcomer of the Year in 2023.

Hermann’s biggest breakthroughs have come in the SA20, where he represents Sunrisers Eastern Cape. A consistent performer at the top, he produced standout knocks in 2025, including 53 off 38 against Paarl Royals in the league stage and an unbeaten 69 in the playoffs that carried his side to victory. His first T20 century in Season 2 of the league further underlined his reputation as a batter who thrives on big occasions.

On the domestic circuit, Hermann has been equally prolific. Playing for the Warriors, he scored over 500 runs in 10 innings at an average above 50, highlighted by a career-best 152. More recently, in September 2025, he showcased his temperament with an unbeaten 186 for South Africa A against New Zealand A, an innings that drew wide acclaim.

With a strong foundation and the backing of legends like AB de Villiers—who praised him as one of the brightest batting talents to watch—Hermann’s rise feels inevitable. At just 23, he has the skills, temperament, and hunger to become a mainstay in South Africa’s batting order across formats.
