Player Bio

Bryce Alic Jackson is a right-arm fast bowler who has worked his way from club cricket to the heart of Western Australia’s attack. His story is one of resilience, shaped by injuries, persistence, and some eye-catching performances that have already placed him firmly on the radar of national selectors.

The 1999-born pacer first cut his teeth in local cricket for Melville in WA Premier Cricket, where his raw pace and bounce stood out. His exceptional performances for the club earned him a rookie contract with Western Australia in 2021-22.

Injuries threatened to derail his progress—recurring back and hamstring setbacks kept him sidelined for long periods—but Jackson persisted. By mid-2022, he had been rewarded with a full state contract, proof of the faith WA selectors had in his potential.

The Albany boy’s List A debut came in February 2024 against Tasmania, where he struck immediately with three wickets. Just a few days later, in only his second One-Day Cup appearance, Jackson produced a performance that stamped his name into WA’s history books. Against South Australia, he claimed 6 for 31, the best bowling figures ever recorded by a Western Australian in the competition.

“Being able to get through (the injury setbacks) and come out here and take a six-fa at Cricket Central, it’s a lot of emotions. I would have liked to get the win on the board as well, but it’s been an unreal journey for me. I almost teared up out there a little bit when I got that six-fa. It’s been awesome," Jackson said in an interview after the game.

Jackson’s outstanding domestic form led to him being named in Australia A’s squad to face Sri Lanka A in Darwin in July 2025.

On the T20 front, he was signed by Perth Scorchers for the Big Bash League in December 2024. For the 2025-26 season, he will again represent the same side.

In August 2025, Jackson played an important role in helping the Perth Scorchers Academy lift the Top End T20 Series title. The pacer picked up 10 wickets in five games and was among the top ten wicket-takers of the tournament.

Jackson is still at the beginning of his elite career, but with pace, bounce, and a proven record of match-winning spells in domestic cricket, he has quickly become one of the most exciting young quicks in Australian cricket.
