The wicketkeeper-batter, born on May 12, 1998, made his international debut in late 2024 and wasted no time in making his presence felt. Slotting into the middle order, Mirza impressed with his ability to rotate strike, absorb pressure, and play timely counter-attacking knocks.

A breakthrough moment came in May 2025 against Canada in Lauderhill, when he struck a fluent 77, guiding Oman to a crucial win in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. He followed it up with another half-century (50 against the USA), underlining his value as a dependable contributor with the bat. In ODIs, Mirza has already collected over 250 runs from his first 11 matches, while in T20Is he has chipped in with brisk cameos at a strike rate well above 120.

Behind the stumps, his tidy work has added balance to the side, with sharp catches and stumpings reflecting his quick reflexes. Still at the start of his career, Mirza’s dual role provides Oman with both stability and flexibility — traits that make him a vital part of their plans moving forward.
