Player Bio

At an age when most players have already spent years in the international circuit, Ashish Rambhai Odedra made a late but impactful entry for Oman in 2024. A right-handed batter and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Odedra brings both experience and composure to a side that continues to grow on the global stage.

Born in October 1991 in Gujarat, India, Odedra honed his skills in local cricket before finding his opportunity in Oman’s setup. His debut came in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 in November 2024, where he immediately showed his value with the bat. A maiden ODI half-century against the UAE in Al Amerat marked him out as a reliable middle-order option, capable of steadying the innings as well as accelerating when required.

In ODIs, Odedra has shown early consistency, averaging in the mid-30s with a best of 54*. His role in Oman’s batting order is that of a stabiliser, often coming in during tricky phases and guiding the innings forward. Though yet to be used significantly with the ball, his left-arm orthodox spin gives the team an additional option in certain conditions.

Odedra has also represented Oman in T20Is, though he is still finding his feet in the shorter format. His temperament and adaptability, however, make him a valuable squad member as Oman look to compete strongly in both limited-overs formats.

For a team aiming to establish itself more firmly in world cricket, Odedra’s presence offers a mix of maturity, stability, and versatility — qualities Oman will hope to rely on in the coming years.
