Pune-born Dhruv Parashar moved with his family to Dubai at the age of four, where he began his cricketing journey. A spin bowling all-rounder, Parashar has steadily risen from the UAE’s junior ranks to become a promising player for the senior national team.
Parashar, who regularly bowls in the powerplays, is a big admirer of Indian cricketers, especially Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya.
He first gained recognition during the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he delivered several standout performances. Against West Indies, he claimed four wickets with clever variations, and later, in the Plate Final against Ireland, he was named Player of the Match for an economical spell of 2/15 that helped UAE secure victory. That same year, his impressive form earned him a call-up to the Desert Vipers as a replacement in the inaugural International League T20, providing him with invaluable franchise exposure.
Parashar transitioned to senior cricket in December 2023, making his T20 International debut, followed by his ODI debut in November 2024.
After making his T20I debut against Afghanistan, he was dropped from the side after just two matches. Rather than dwelling on the disappointment, he used the time away to hone his skills and played club cricket in Shropshire, England. His determination paid off when stellar all-round performances on the UAE’s A tour to Namibia earned him selection for the Emerging Teams T20 Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup League 2 games.
In his short career so far, he has already left a mark—scoring a maiden ODI fifty and producing an exceptional T20I bowling performance of 4/12, underlining his ability to influence matches in both departments.
Beyond his international commitments, Parashar continues to feature for the Desert Vipers in the ILT20, where his consistency has made him one of the most exciting young players to watch. At just 20 years old, his blend of off-spin control, composed batting, and youthful hunger positions him as one of UAE cricket’s brightest prospects for the future.
The 2004-born cricketer, who has shared the new ball with ex-Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir in ILT20, aims to play in the IPL one day.
The off-spinner has attended Wellington School, Somerset, where he played for the school's 1st XI cricket team.
