Player Bio

Few players in Nepal’s modern cricketing landscape have experienced a journey as turbulent, dramatic, and ultimately inspiring as Mohammad Aadil Alam, also known as Aadil Ansari. Born on 18 October 2003 in Simraungadh, Bara, he began as a gifted youngster from Madhesh Province, quickly rising through the ranks with raw pace, discipline, and a fighter’s mentality. Today, in NPL 2025, he represents the Kathmandu Gorkhas, marking a significant chapter in a career reshaped by resilience.

Aadil first burst onto the scene through Madhesh Province’s domestic pathways. His standout showing in the Prime Minister Cup, where his incisive spells powered Madhesh to an unexpected win over a heavyweight side, signalled the arrival of a serious prospect. A controlled right-arm medium pacer known for accuracy over theatrics, he soon drew the attention of national selectors.

His international debut came swiftly. In March 2022, Aadil was included in Nepal’s squad for the T20I Tri-Nation Series and made his debut against Papua New Guinea. Weeks later, he stepped into ODI cricket in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, taking three wickets on debut against the United States — a performance that cemented his place among Nepal’s rising bowlers.

However, his career came to a halt in early 2023 when he was arrested in connection with alleged spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 League. It was a moment that shook Nepalese cricket. Yet, after over a year of legal proceedings, the Kathmandu District Court acquitted him in March 2024, citing a lack of evidence. Following a detailed review, CAN fully lifted his suspension in May 2025, clearing his return to professional cricket.

Aadil's skillset remains valuable: disciplined seam bowling, clever variations, handy late-order hitting, and sharp fielding — the kind of all-round utility every franchise craves. His signing by the Kathmandu Gorkhas for NPL 2025 reflects the belief that talent, when coupled with maturity, deserves a fresh start.

For Aadil Alam, this season is more than cricket — it’s a statement. A statement that setbacks don’t define careers. Comebacks do.
