Player Bio

Mohammad Ali, born on November 1, 1992, in Sialkot, Pakistan, is a right-arm medium-fast bowler, who has made significant strides in Pakistan's domestic cricket scene. His journey from domestic cricket to representing the national team and participating in prominent T20 leagues like the Pakistan Super League (PSL) exemplifies his dedication and skill.

Mohammad Ali began playing in local leagues in Sialkot, a city vibrantly known to produce cricketers.

In his initial days, he started playing tape-ball cricket and then transitioned to hard leather ball cricket. His raw talent caught the eye of local coaches, leading to his inclusion in age-group tournaments and eventually the domestic setup.

In October 2018, Mohammad Ali made his First-Class cricket debut for ZTBL (Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited), claiming two wickets. His first-class debut followed in the 2018-19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, where he quickly established himself as a reliable seamer.

In the 2023 edition of Pakistan's premier List-A tournament, he finished as the tournament’s third-highest wicket-taker with 15 scalps, including a match-winning 4/32 against Central Punjab.

Mohammad Ali's consistent performance helped him earn a spot in Pakistan A squads for tours against Sri Lanka and New Zealand A, where he honed his skills against international-quality batters.

Fate served the seamer his sweetest fruits in 2022 when Peshawar Zalmi signed him as a supplementary pick for PSL 7. Though he played sparingly that season, his work ethic impressed coaches, leading to a retained spot for PSL 2023.

In PSL 2024, during a clash against Lahore Qalandars, he defended 12 runs in the final over, showcasing nerves of steel. His season tally of 18 wickets placed him among the top five wicket-takers, reinforcing his reputation as a clutch performer.

Standing 6’1”, Mohammad Ali generates steep bounce and subtle movement off the pitch. His stock delivery is the in-swinger to right-handers, but he’s equally adept at angling the ball away.
