Player Bio

Born on December 11, 1994, Zia-ul-Haq is a name that resonates with passion, pace, and persistence in Pakistan’s fast-bowling landscape. A left-arm quick with raw aggression and natural swing, Zia has spent years honing his craft across multiple formats and levels, steadily building a reputation as a tireless workhorse with match-winning potential.

Zia’s cricketing journey began early, earning a place in the Pakistan Under-19 team, where he showcased his talent on the youth international stage. It was clear from the outset that this young pacer from Punjab possessed the tools to go far—sharp pace, discipline, and an unyielding hunger to improve. He quickly progressed through the ranks, featuring in Under-19 ODIs, first-class cricket, List A, and T20 formats, consistently impressing with his ability to strike at crucial moments.

His growing stature was acknowledged in 2015, when he was named in Pakistan’s T20 International squad for their tour of Sri Lanka. Though he didn’t make his debut during that series, the selection alone was a mark of how highly he was regarded within national circles.

Zia continued to build momentum on the domestic front. One of his most memorable performances came during the 2018 Pakistan Cup, where he represented Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was nothing short of sensational, claiming 11 wickets in just 4 matches, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker for his side. His sharp bowling and ability to deliver under pressure once again put his name in the spotlight. A year later, in 2019, he was drafted into the Federal Areas squad for the same tournament, proving his consistency across regional teams.

Throughout his career, Zia has been a regular feature in Pakistan’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, where he refined his skillset in the red-ball format. His versatility has allowed him to switch seamlessly between formats—a quality that has become essential in the modern game.

Now, in the latest chapter of his career, Zia-ul-Haq has taken his talent to the global stage, representing the Texas Super Kings in the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season. With his fiery pace and years of domestic and international experience, he brings strength, leadership, and a fierce competitive edge to the American franchise.
