Player Bio

Zaman Khan, famously known as Kashmiri Express, is a burgeoning Pakistani fast bowler renowned for his distinctive slingy bowling action, reminiscent of Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga. He was Born on September 10, 2001, in Chakswari, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. He has represented various teams like Toronto Nationals, Seattle Orcars, Lahore Qalandars, and many more.

Pakistan is known to produce pacers; we have seen greats like Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis, and many more, whose numbers would be too numerous for our fingers to count. One big common start between them and Zaman is the tape ball. Starting from the root, the tape ball taught them to swing. Shining in the local tournaments and school-level competitions, he shone brighter in the academy he joined.

Zaman’s initial breakthrough came in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. In September 2021, he made his T20 debut for Northern (Pakistan) at Rawalpindi in the 2021-22 National Cup, where he bagged his first wicket, sending back Bismillah Khan. This platform paved the way for his subsequent engagements in various T20 leagues.

In March 2022, Zaman made his debut in List-A cricket in the Pakistan Cup, playing for Northern against Balochistan in Islamabad. He bowled at an economy of less than five, which also includes two maiden overs and a wicket of Amad Butt. he finished with a figure of 1/32 in seven overs.

Zaman's consistent domestic performances caught the attention of the Lahore Qalandars, a franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has been no less than an asset to the team. Throughout his tenure, he had played 35 matches, claiming 44 wickets with best figures of 4/16.

In December 2022, Zaman Khan was signed by the Jaffna Kings for the Lanka Premier League (LPL). During his stint, he played five matches, taking 4 wickets with best figures of 1/22.

Zaman expanded his T20 credentials by joining the Sydney Thunder in Australia's Big Bash League (BBL). In his debut season, he played four matches, securing eight wickets, with his best figures being 3/24. He went on to expand his horizons. Later in May 2023, Derbyshire signed Zaman Khan for the Vitality Blast. He played 14 matches, securing 25 wickets, with best figures of 4/21.

In August 2023, Zaman Khan was signed by the Manchester Originals as a replacement for Josh Little in The Hundred Men's Competition. Zaman Khan's growing reputation led to his inclusion in the Seattle Orcas for Major League Cricket (MLC).

Showing his adaptability in different conditions, Zaman has already proven himself as a versatile player. The only mark in his career left was his international debut for Pakistan, which wasn’t far from his sight. On March 24, 2023, he made his T20 international debut for Pakistan against Afghanistan at Sharjah.

Later in the same year, during the Asia Cup, Zaman made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on September 14, 2023. He couldn’t tick the wicket column but was looking better with his raw pace and his ability to generate bounce.
