Player Bio

For years, Nepal’s cricket structure has been defined by raw talent fighting its way through limited opportunities, and few players embody that journey quite like Dilip Nath. Born on 19 December 1997, Nath stepped into the national spotlight as a promising left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman—compact, busy at the crease, and sharp behind the stumps.

His rise began when he made his List A debut in December 2017, facing the UAE during the ICC World Cricket League Championship. The following month, he was trusted with a spot in Nepal’s squad for ICC World Cricket League Division Two, marking him as one of the young faces expected to carry the team forward.

Nath’s international T20 career began in March 2022, when he made his debut against Malaysia in the Tri-Nation Series. While he featured in only four T20Is, scoring 15 runs at a strike rate of 136.4, the numbers tell only part of the story. Behind the stumps, he showed clean glovework, including one stumping at the international level, and his domestic form kept him in selectors’ conversations.

Where Dilip Nath continues to carve out his identity is in the Nepal Premier League, where he plays for the Lumbini Lions. In a team filled with big hitters and young fast bowlers, Nath brings a blend of experience and balance. His left-handed batting offers variety in the middle order, and his ability to rotate strike makes him a useful option during tricky phases of an innings. As a wicketkeeper, he remains tidy and alert — traits that become even more valuable in the chaos of T20 cricket.

With the spotlight now on the 2025 Nepal Premier League, this season arrives at just the right moment for Nath. The Lions are counting on his maturity, patience, and ability to handle pressure. For Nath himself, it’s a chance to reboot his career narrative — from a player who showed early promise to one who converts those sparks into meaningful, match-winning performances.
