Player Bio

Nathan Gregory Smith has emerged as a talented all-rounder, making his mark in New Zealand cricket with his skills as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler. Known for his ability to contribute in both departments, Smith has steadily progressed through the ranks, from age-group cricket to the international stage.

His journey began with Otago, where he played for the Under-17 and Under-19 teams before earning a spot in the senior squad. He later moved to Wellington, further proving his capabilities as a reliable all-rounder. His strong domestic performances also earned him a place in the New Zealand Under-19 team, paving the way for his international debut.

The fast-bowling all-rounder made his Test debut against England in November 2024 and played his first ODI against Sri Lanka the same year. Though still early in his international career, he has shown glimpses of his potential, delivering crucial performances with both bat and ball.

In first-class cricket, he has scored nearly 2,000 runs at an average of 26.65, including a century and 13 fifties, while also taking over 150 wickets. His T20 record is equally promising, with a strike rate of 128.12 and a five-wicket haul to his name.

With his versatility and ability to perform under pressure, Nathan Smith is shaping up to be a key asset for New Zealand cricket in the years to come.
