Muhammad Akhlaq is a right-handed and part-time medium pacer. He was born on  November 12, 1992, in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan. Over the years, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the domestic circuit of Pakistan.

Akhlaq fell in love with cricket at a very young age. He began his journey playing for local clubs and local tournaments. His skills, determination, and consistency helped him get selected in the Gujranwala Under-19s, marking a huge step in his career. 

During the 2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Akhlaq made his first-class debut, playing for Lahore Lions in November 2014. Opening the innings for the side, he scored 32 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 18-run knock in the second, contributing to the team’s win. 

In January 2015, Akhlaq made his List-A debut for Lahore Lions, playing against Port Qasim. Opening the innings for the side, he scored a marvellous fifty while chasing 256, making the match one-sided. 

His T20 debut was just around the corner after his excellent performance in different formats. In the Haier Mobile Cup, Akhlaq made his debut for Lahore Region Blues against Azad Jammu Kashmir Region. Batting at number three, he scored a quick fifty, ending his inning at 51 in 32 balls, playing at a strike rate of nearly 160. 

In December 2021, Akhlaq was signed by Islamabad United for the 2022 Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, reflecting his growing reputation in the T20 format.  He was recently added to the Lahore Qalandars squad for the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The way he announced himself to all the formats was incredible; he has been knocking on the doors of selectors in recent times. His performances across formats and teams highlight his versatility and resilience. As he continues to evolve as a cricketer, fans and selectors alike will be keenly watching his progress, hopeful that he will make significant contributions to Pakistan cricket in the years to come.
