Player Bio

Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Caleb Jewell had a meteoric rise in the last 12 months and made a name for himself at the domestic competitions in Australia.

A left-handed batter, Jewell is technically sound, touted to represent Australia at the Test level.

He made his first-class debut for Tasmania during the 2015-16 Sheffield Shield competition. It was a horror start for the southpaw as he was dismissed for nought in his very first innings. Apart from being a terrific red-ball player, the Hobart-born lad has excelled in the shorter format as well.

The Tasmanian made his T20 debut for Hobart Hurricanes during the 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy and struggled against a quality Lahore Qalandars bowling attack.

However, in the Big Bash League, Jewell has showcased his talent. So far, he has notched up 381 runs at a strike rate of 120.57, but more than the numbers, he has played some crucial knocks for Hurricanes under immense pressure in the premier Australian T20 league.
