Originating from Durban, Corbin Bosch has a rich cricketing background with his father, Tertius Bosch, representing South Africa in a solitary Test and two ODIs in 1992. In addition, his younger brother, Eathan Bosch, built a reputation in the domestic circuit and recently made his international debut.

Corbin was just five when his father passed away mysteriously in 2000, as he succumbed to Guillain-Barré Syndrome, but 18 months later, it was revealed that he might have been poisoned. The youngster has grown up in the shadows of this tragedy, making him more brutal and mentally tough.

Corbin Bosch Early Career

Corbin Bosh broke into the South African Under-19 squad in 2014, which included some future stars, such as Kagiso Rabada and Aiden Markram. In the 2014 edition of the ICC U-19 World Cup, Corbin made his debut against the West Indies on his father's 14th death anniversary, with figures of 2/25.

The moment of magic for Bosch came in the final at Dubai, where he derailed Pakistan's innings with a scintillating bowling spell of 4/15 in 7.3 overs, thereby earning him a player of the match trophy and an elusive ICC trophy for the Proteas. Interestingly, he was also a prolific hockey goalkeeper for the South African U-21s.

The Protea all-rounder made his T20 debut in 2015, but lacked pace in his bowling and found life difficult on the domestic circuit with the Titans. However, by 2017, he had honed his skills, developed more speed, and earned his First-Class debut for the Titans. A year later, he made his List A debut for the Northerns.

He was also part of the 2019 edition of the Mzansi Super League, bowling some decent spells and finishing as runners-up.

The Durban-born struck 163 runs with an impressive strike rate of 136 and picked up 10 wickets from 7 games in the recently concluded CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge.

Corbin Bosch ODI Career

The Protea all-rounder, Corbin Bosch, made his ODI debut against Pakistan in Johannesburg on December 22, 2024. As an injury replacement for Ottneil Baartman, the 30-year-old scored 40 runs off 44 balls and took 1/69 in his 9 overs. He also scored 5 boundaries after coming to bat in the number eight position, with South Africa struggling at 194/6, in pursuit of a mammoth 309 target.

Corbin Bosch Test Career

Only a few days after his ODI debut, Corbin Bosch received his maiden call-up to join South Africa's Test squad for their two-match Test series against Pakistan in December 2024.

On his Test debut on 26 December 2024, Bosch had a dream start, striking with a breakthrough off his very first delivery in Test cricket by dismissing Pakistani skipper Shan Masood. He eventually picked up a four-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 4/63 from 15 overs, including four maidens in Pakistan's first innings.

He also scored a half-century on his debut test match in his first innings as he ended up as the second-highest prolific scorer for South Africa in their first innings total of 301, with a gritty, unbeaten knock of 81 coming off only 93 balls, including a tally of 15 boundaries. His unbeaten knock of 81 also shattered the record for the highest individual score by a South African number 8 batsman or below on test debut.

The all-rounder scored his maiden Test century on July 1, 2025, smashing 100* off 124 balls. He also took a five-wicket haul in the same match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

Corbin Bosch T20I Career

Corbin Bosch made his T20I debut for the Proteas against Zimbabwe on July 14, 2025, in Harare.

For his remarkable all-round performances, Bosch has been named in South Africa’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
