Player Bio

With a calm temperament and a growing reputation for big scores, Imran Mir has emerged as one of Afghanistan’s most consistent young batters in the domestic arena. Born in Logar Province, the right-handed top-order batter represents the new generation of Afghanistan cricketers shaping the country’s batting future.

Mir made his first-class debut for Mis Ainak Region during the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-Day Tournament, marking his arrival in senior domestic cricket as a teenager.

His early promise soon earned him recognition at the Under-19 level, where his compact technique and ability to build long innings stood out. Mir even went on to become a part of the Afghanistan squad for the U-19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa.

Notably, Mir was among the highest run-scorers in the Shpageeza Cricket League 2025, scoring 296 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 151.

The 2001-born batter is part of the Afghanistan squad for the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in November 2025.

As Afghanistan continues to expand its talent pool, his name stands out among the country’s emerging batters poised to step up to the international stage in the coming years.
