Zawar Farid is an Emirati cricketer who has all the strokes present in the book, and his USP is that he can score runs at a rapid pace. He is an opening batter who has been a regular in the UAE colours since his debut, helping his country take the frog leap at the international level. 

The UAE international is of Pakistan descent, he was born in Sahiwal but raised in the UAE. He was first named in the UAE squad for the Netherlands series in August 2019, where he made his T20I debut against the host team at The Hague. 

Farid was also part of the squad during the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, played in September of 2019. The opener lit the tournament by firing a quick half-century against Nigeria to aid UAE with an easy victory. 

The following year, the Sahiwal born made his ODI debut during the Tri-Series - involving UAE, USA and Oman - to make his debut against Oman in January 2020. Later that year, he was rewarded with a year-long full-time contract by the Emirates Cricket Board.

Farid has shown all the ingredients to become a successful opener of an international team, and his potential has been helping UAE to emerge as a quality cricketing nation at the world stage.
