Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have kicked off IPL 2026 with a major commercial advantage. Nothing, a consumer technology company based in London, has been announced as the new title sponsor of RCB.

This is happening at a time when RCB have won their first-ever IPL title in 2025, and this will add to the brand value of RCB.

Nothing announced as RCB’s title sponsor after historic IPL win

On February 3, Nothing announced that they are partnering with Royal Challengers Bengaluru as their title sponsor for the IPL 2026 season.

This builds on the brand’s association with RCB from last year. The timing is key, as RCB are fresh off their maiden IPL title, ending years of disappointment for the franchise.

As part of the deal, Nothing smartphones will feature prominently on RCB’s match jerseys. The brand will also be visible across digital platforms, stadium branding, and fan engagement campaigns throughout the season.

Previously, Qatar Airways held the title sponsorship for three years under a deal worth around ₹75 crore.

Nothing’s India President and co-founder Akis Evangelidis said RCB’s title-winning run captured the emotion and energy of Indian cricket. He added that partnering with IPL champions fits perfectly with Nothing’s ambition in India.

RCB COO Rajesh Menon welcomed the partnership, stating that Nothing’s creative and modern brand identity aligns naturally with RCB’s image.

RCB sees a boost in brand power after IPL title win

The reason for this increase is the massive following that RCB has, along with their online presence, and now, their much-awaited success on the cricket field. As per the IPL Valuation Study 2025 by Houlihan Lokey, the total business value of the IPL has increased to $18.5 billion.

The league’s brand value has also grown sharply to $3.9 billion. RCB remain the most valuable IPL franchise at $269 million.

They are ahead of the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders. This increase is attributed to RCB’s huge fan base, online presence, and finally, their much-awaited success on the ground.

Thus, for technology companies such as Nothing, cricket provides unparalleled visibility in India.

The RCB partnership strengthens Nothing’s footprint in one of the world’s most competitive smartphone markets.

Ownership talks and what lies ahead for RCB

The sponsorship news comes at a time of major change behind the scenes. RCB’s parent company, Diageo India, has put the franchise up for sale. This comes after a strategic review, with the sale process expected to be completed by March 31, 2026.

Though reports indicate that Diageo believes RCB is a non-essential asset. Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India, has already confirmed his interest. He has publicly stated that he plans to submit a strong bid for the franchise.

Despite the uncertainty of ownership, RCB’s operations are in good shape. A title sponsor like Nothing adds stability and confidence. With a championship, strongest brand value, and best commercial partners, RCB will start IPL 2026 as both on-the-field and off-the-field champions.
