What a dominating show we witnessed from South Africa, especially their centurions Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits. Pakistan batter Sidra Ameen also scored a ton but her team fell a little short in the first innings and their bowlers failed to pick wickets. In the end, South Africa win by eight wickets and go 1-0 up in three match series.

That's it from today. This is Mohammad Anab, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators, Arjun Bhalla and Saptak Sanyal and our scorer/analyst, Ashok Dayma. Do join us on Friday (September 19) for the live coverage of the second match of the series and keep following Crex to keep a track of matches taking place across the globe. Goodnight for now.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women's Captain): "Yes, absolutely. Very happy with the performance. At one moment, it looked like they would post 280-300, but we restricted them to 250 (255/4), which was brilliant.

The track was a bit low and slow, it suited their bowling attack than ours. Ah, tough wicket but our batters showed that if you apply yourselves and spend some time in the middle, runs start to come.

It has been amazing to see those two batters score runs. Taz and Marizanne were simply brilliant, and I am sure somebody else will raise their hand in the next game. It has been a great thing about this team that we have different players who have performed at different stages for us.

Ah, we could have held onto some catches and leaked fewer runs in the middle overs. Maybe we can control a bit more in the middle overs with the spin. Thank you!"
Fatima Sana (Pakistan Women's Captain): "I am happy the way Sidra Ameen batted today but definitely we fell a little short in the first innings. I think we should have added 20-25 runs more.

The pitch was slow and kept low but the way South African batters, especially Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits played was brilliant.

I think we need more discipline in our bowling and fielding."
Marizanne Kapp (Player of the Match): "I saw it in the screen. I didn't reckon that we went past 200. A shoutout should go to her too. It was a tough situation when we came to bat.

We saw the way Pakistan came out in the first innings. So the idea was to get accustomed to the pace of the wicket. Once we get settled, it was easy.

The wicket was not that easy to bat. But we wanted to bat deep and glad that we got the victory. It is better for us to get accustomed to wickets like this ahead of the World Cup."
