Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "Quite happy about the way the boys played and I am looking forward to the next two games. Honestly, I was believing, when our 5 wickets fell down and Nabi came and our discussion was that 220 would be a good score and we felt 236 was a good target and then the bowlers did their job, they were simply brilliant.
Ghazanfar is a special talent and a good feature for Afghanistan. I trust him, the first 3 overs he played really well and the 4th over he went for a few but in the second spell he learnt from his mistakes and won the game for us.
I am very happy we have a lot of youngsters, we have plenty of backups and options. It's unfortunate that Mujeeb and Ibrahim are not with us right now, and today Gurbaz also got injured and hopefully he recovers for the next game."
Najmul Hossain Shanto(Bangladesh Captain): "I think we started very well in the first 15-20 overs but we didn't execute our plans. The game slipped there.
I don't think we didn't need to attack more as there was low bounce. But Hashmat(Shahidi) and Nabi were brilliant. I think my wicket was the factor. I, Soumya and Miraz got 30 odd runs and we needed to stay there.
Afghanistan have got a lot of mystery spinners and they bowled brilliantly. Our preparations were good but the executions are not."
Allah Ghazanfar (Player of the Match): He spoke in Pashto and described how happy he was to perform this well and how lucky he is to play with players like Rashid Khan and how much he gets to learn from him. He hopes to continue to perform this way in the upcoming games.
