Alright that’s all we have for you from the Final of the One Day Cup 2024. Congratulations to Glamorgan who have been crowned Champions defeating Somerset.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit who, along with scorer/analysts Manish Bishnoi brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. CHEERS!
The Glamorgan side collects the trophy with the players posing for pictures. Celebrations around Trent Bridge for the men in yellow!
Kiran Carlson (Glamorgan Captain): "Yeah its obviously great to win the final once again after 3 years. Massive credit to the Trent Bridge ground staffs who have done a brilliant job to ensure we get a game tonight.

Yeah it was a tough season for the fans and I am really glad to bring up a smile on their face and also able to celebrate with them.

Yeah Dan (Daniel Douthwaite) has been brilliant for us throughout the season, he was the man to do the job for us at the death and really pleased with the effort of everyone."
Sean Dickson (Somerset Captain): "Hats off to these guys. At the end of the day we lose 11 players to The Hundred but we gave it all. Credit to Glamorgan.

Alfie is a very good talent. Just shows the depth of the squad. The conditions were slipping and sliding. We tried our best and here we are.

Just shows what a couple of wickets can do, can change the momentum."
Sam Northeast (Player of the Final): "Yeah it does feel amazing to get a game on today because we did not really think it was possible yesterday or today morning.

It was pretty much just to get us to a competitive total during our Innings with the bat. The chat was pretty much to build up a partnership and at the end of our Innings we got some momentum and finished off well.

Yeah its a really good club to move on and I have really enjoyed my time here so far. Delighted to play a winning knock in the final."

Time for the Post Match Presentations.
Dan Douthwaite: "On paper doesn't sound too bad. Would have been tougher with few more balls to go. It got closer towards the last over but thankfully we got the job done.

I think at certain times this season we were on the verge of losing but someone stepped up and saved the day. We kind of nailed our Plan A as well as we could have.

My fondest memory was to win the cup in 2021 but I wasn't there I was playing the Hundred but to be a part of history and doing it again is special. Good to have fans over here and back at home as well."
6:47 PM IST & 2:17 PM Local Time| A fascinating contest at Trent Bridge comes to an end as Glamorgan have been crowned Champions of the England One Day Cup 2024! They have defeated Somerset by 15 runs in the Final.

Earlier in the day, Glamorgan were put into bat by Sean Dickson with the overcast conditions being really dark at Trent Bridge. Glamorgan did not get off to a good start to their Innings as they lost two wickets inside the 2nd over and were in a spot of bother early on.

William Smale was the real aggressor in the powerplay but his quickfire knock did not last long as he was dismissed for 28. The 5th wicket partnership between Sam Northeast and Billy Root steadied the ship for Glamorgan as the pair added 78 runs together.

Sam Northeast (63*) was the top scorer of the Innings and a quick fire cameo from Timm van der Gugten (26* off 9) in the death overs ensure Glamorgan finish on a high as they end up with 186/7 in their 20 overs.

Two wickets apiece for Alfie Richard James Ogborne (2/36) and George Thomas (2/23) were the pick of the bowlers for Somerset. So the target for Somerset in the Final of the One Day Cup 2024 was 187 in 20 overs.

In reply, Somerset got of to a watchful start in the powerplay. George Thomas was sent back to the pavilion inside the powerplay for 13. Andrew Umeed was timing the ball really well, got to a really good start but failed to convert it to a big one as he perished for 45.

It was the 5th wicket partnership between, Archie Vaughan and Skipper, Sean Dickson who added a quick fire 66 runs off just 30 deliveries to get their side back in the game. The asking rate was creeping up as the game progressed and it was a massive task for Somerset to chase it after losing half of their side for 155.

Brilliant captaincy from Kiran Carlson who marshalled his troops really well. Benjamin Kellaway (2/37) and Andy Gorvin (2/42) were the pick of the bowlers for Glamorgan. So its Glamorgan who have won the encounter comprehensively and are Champions of the England One Day Cup 2024!
There it is!! The celebrations begin as Glamorgan are the CHAMPIONS of the England One Day Cup 2024.
