Player Bio

Millicent “Milly” Illingworth is one of Australia’s most exciting young fast-bowling prospects — tall, raw, fearless, and already capable of generating serious pace. Born on 15 July 2005 in Geelong and raised in Port Campbell on Victoria’s rugged south-west coast, Illingworth has quickly risen through the ranks thanks to her slingy action, natural bounce, and a short ball that demands respect.

Her breakthrough began at the 2022 Cricket Australia Under-19 National Championships, where she claimed nine wickets and established herself as a future star. In early 2023, she earned a call-up to Victoria’s senior squad and announced her arrival with a superb 4/41 on debut against Western Australia — a performance that immediately confirmed her potential at domestic level.

Illingworth also shone on the international stage at the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

After debuting in the WBBL with the Melbourne Stars, Illingworth made a significant move across town when she joined the Melbourne Renegades for WBBL|10. The Renegades’ investment in her pace and long-term potential has continued into WBBL|11, where she remains part of their developing pace attack. For a team searching for firepower and fresh energy with the ball, Illingworth fits perfectly — bringing speed, bounce, and a competitive edge that is rare in teenage quicks.

She continues to refine her craft at Essendon Maribyrnong Park, one of Melbourne’s leading women’s cricket pathways. As she grows physically and gains more match exposure, her ability to swing momentum with the ball becomes increasingly valuable.

Still only in her teens, Milly Illingworth heads into WBBL|11 as a young quick on the rise — grounded, hardworking, and ready to take another step forward as a key part of the Melbourne Renegades’ future
