Player Bio

Ebony Hoskin (born 23 March 2003) has quickly built a reputation as one of Australia’s most spirited and hard-working emerging fast bowlers. A right-arm seamer with sharp discipline, big match temperament, and an infectious love for the contest, Hoskin has grown from a New South Wales pathway prospect into a key member of the Perth Scorchers’ WBBL attack, with her best cricket still ahead of her.

A product of the NSW development system, Hoskin first drew attention during the 2021–22 Under-19 Championships before earning a surprise debut for New South Wales early in the 2022–23 WNCL season. Thrown in due to an injury to Hannah Darlington, she announced herself immediately — taking a wicket with her first ball in state cricket and finishing with an outstanding 3/39. It was a moment that captured exactly who she is: fearless, competitive, and ready whenever the opportunity comes.

She continued to develop over her next two seasons with NSW and gained early WBBL experience with the Sydney Thunder, making four appearances and showcasing her ability to bowl tough overs.

Her real breakout, however, came when the Perth Scorchers recruited her for WBBL|10 after an impressive T20 Spring Challenge campaign. In her first season in orange, the 22-year-old stood tall, claiming seven wickets in ten matches and earning praise for her energy, accuracy, and constant willingness to bowl in challenging phases of the game.

The Scorchers saw her long-term potential immediately, signing her on a two-year extension through WBBL|12, ensuring she remains a central part of their pace stocks. Ahead of the 2025–26 summer, Hoskin also made a permanent move west, signing with Western Australia for domestic cricket — a major step that reflects her commitment to becoming a frontline quick.

Now set for WBBL|11, Hoskin brings maturity, momentum, and a growing confidence in her craft. With her blend of control, enthusiasm, and team-first attitude, she has quickly become a fan favourite in Perth and a dependable young bowler capable of shaping games.

Ebony Hoskin isn’t just an emerging pacer — she’s a rising force, and the Scorchers know exactly how valuable she will be in the seasons ahead.
