Player Bio

Gurnoor Singh Brar, the tall and lively right-arm fast bowler from Punjab, has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young pacers in Indian cricket. A genuine quick who can generate bounce and movement off the surface, Brar also brings depth to his side with his capable right-handed batting lower down the order.

His cricketing journey began long before his professional debut, when he served as a net bowler for the Mumbai Indians during the 2019 Indian Premier League. Those early days in the nets, rubbing shoulders with some of the best in the game, gave him a taste of top-level professionalism and shaped his approach as a fast bowler. Brar eventually made his List A debut for Punjab in December 2022, followed shortly by his first-class debut against Railways the same month.

His breakthrough moment came during the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy season, when he produced a gritty all-round performance against Jammu and Kashmir, scoring a vital 64 under pressure. His 100-run partnership with Siddharth Kaul proved instrumental in guiding Punjab to a four-wicket win, marking him as a player with both fight and flair.

In domestic cricket, Brar’s growth has been steady and impressive. The 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season showcased his true potential, as he took 33 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 25.66, maintaining a miserly economy rate of 3.43. His best figures —a devastating 5 for 14 against Bihar —underlined his ability to turn games on his own. That same season, he dominated the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League, finishing as the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 22 wickets in 11 matches.

Brar’s consistency and raw pace soon caught the attention of IPL scouts. He was signed by the Punjab Kings for the 2023 season as a replacement for Raj Bawa, making his T20 debut against the Lucknow Super Giants. While his initial IPL stint gave him a taste of the big stage, his real breakthrough came ahead of the 2025 IPL season, when the Gujarat Titans secured his services for an impressive INR 1.3 crore—more than six times his previous contract value.

With his height, aggression, and ability to extract movement even on flat decks, Brar has all the makings of a fast-bowling force for the future. Still in the early stages of his career, he continues to refine his craft — evolving into a bowler capable of leading attacks and a lower-order batter who can hold his nerve under pressure. Although he didn’t feature in any matches for the Gujarat Titans during the 2025 IPL season, his presence in the squad and exposure to a high-performance environment have only strengthened his skillset and mindset. As he continues to grow in stature, Gurnoor Singh Brar remains one of Indian cricket’s most promising young quicks — raw, driven, and ready to seize his moment on the big stage.
